State Representative Tom Morrison is partnering with American Legion Post 690, Paper Tiger, S.C.A.R.C.E., and Working Bikes to host a recycling event collecting old flags, fax machines, keys, bikes, printers, Brita water filters, laptops/computers, books, holiday lights, cables/accessories, keyboards, gaming devices, small inkjet cartridges, and cell phones.
No TV’s, CRT’s (non-“flat-screen” TVs), or external hard drives will be accepted.
Regarding this event, Representative Tom Morrison said, “These recycle drives are popular because there’s a large amount of electronics and other items that otherwise would go into our landfills. I wanted to create a time and place where people could safely dispose of their recyclables quickly and efficiently. I’m grateful to be able to partner with these organizations and provide this opportunity to the public.”
This event will be held at Christ the King Lutheran King, 100 West Michigan Ave. in Palatine on May 6th from 12-3pm. In order to expedite drop-offs and minimize potential for traffic tie-ups around the site, please enter from Cedar St. to W. Michigan Ave and enter the church parking lot from W. Michigan Ave. There will be signage and personnel to help direct traffic. The event is free to the public.
