State Representative Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) is hosting a Bicycle Rodeo event for families in his 54th District. The free, outdoor event will be held on Saturday, June 5th at William Fremd High School, 1000 South Quentin Road, from 9:00am—12:00pm, and is the kick-off to the Representative’s first annual ‘Kids Week.’
A Bicycle Rodeo is a series of courses that provides children the opportunity to practice safety and agility skills using their own bicycles. It will feature five different learning stations, bike and helmet inspections, and bike registration booths. Participants in the event include the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, the Palatine Police Department, and Mike’s Bike Shop.
This event will abide by current COVID-19 guidelines and reservations are required, which you can make online here.
Representative Morrison encourages all area kids to grab their bikes – and don’t forget a helmet, which will be required to participate in the event.
“This event is going to be a great way to kick off our summer,” said Rep. Morrison. “It’s the first event of a whole week filled with educational fun and I am excited to engage with kids from across the district while we learn more about bike safety and gain more riding skills. I would encourage anyone who has a bike to come join us—but don’t forget your helmet!”
Participants in the event will receive a special certificate of recognition from the Representative. If you have questions about the event, contact Rep. Morrison’s District Office at 847-202-6584.
