Morrison to Host Scam Awareness Event with Police, FBI

State Representative Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) is hosting a Scam Awareness seminar for area residents in his 54th District! The event will go live on Wednesday, March 31st on Rep. Morrison’s website: repmorrison54.com, and will feature two speakers: Commander Bruce Morris at the Palatine Police Department and Susan Zylstra, Community Outreach Specialist at the Chicago FBI. Both presenters will give helpful insight on current scams, especially as it relates to COVID-19 and the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

“Current scams are constantly changing and this presentation will be a great update for residents as to what is currently happening and affecting local residents here and throughout the Chicagoland area,” said Morrison. “Unfortunately, some of these scams can affect anybody and it’s important to have a great refresh to know how best to stay vigilant and protect you and your loved ones.”

While the event will be online, residents are encouraged to submit any questions they have for the police or FBI by March 19th to Rep. Morrison’s office at morrison@ilhousegop.org. With questions about the event, residents can contact Rep. Morrison at (847) 202-6584.
