PALATINE—State Representative Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) has been named to serve on five different committees in the House of Representatives for the 102nd General Assembly. Those five integral committees include: Elementary/Secondary Education: Admin, Licensing, & Charters, Elementary/Secondary Education: School Curriculum & Policies, Energy & Environment, Insurance, and Personnel & Pensions.
Representative Morrison will be returning as the Republican Spokesperson for the committee that handles K-12 administration, licensing, and charter schools. Representative Morrison had been a 5th grade teacher for six years before purchasing a franchised cleaning and restoration business. He is also a father of four children, three of whom are school-aged.
“The future of education is vital to Illinois families and the success of our state,” said Rep. Morrison. “This committee will strive to help improve our state’s education system. As the spokesperson on this committee, I am ready to lead bipartisan, productive conversations to help make this a reality.”
On the heels of Governor Pritzker’s budget address earlier this week, House Committees will begin to meet in the coming weeks. Updates on legislative session and Rep. Morrison’s work in the General Assembly can be found at repmorrison54.com.
