Palatine—State Representative Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) is hosting a blood drive in partnership with Palatine Township and Vitalant. The event will take place on Tuesday, January 19th at Palatine Township, 721 Quentin S. Road, from 11:30am—4:30pm and by appointment only.
Rep. Morrison’s drive will take every necessary safety precaution to keep both volunteers and donors safe during the event, which is why appointments are required. To make an appointment to donate blood, residents can visit: https://donateblood.lifesource.org/AppointmentScheduling.aspx and enter search code 517D. Food donations for the Palatine Township Food Pantry are also welcome during the event. Some of the most needed items for the Palatine Food Pantry include 100% Juice Bottles or Boxes, Pancake Mix, Granola Bars, Oatmeal and Snacks, and a comprehensive list of items needed can be found here.
Due to the ongoing blood shortage in Illinois, Rep. Morrison hosted several blood drives in 2020 and encourages others to do what they can to also help increase the blood supply.
“Donating blood helps save lives,” said Rep. Morrison. “With our state experiencing ongoing blood shortages amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this drive will help make an immediate impact that can make a difference.”
Spots are limited for blood donation, so interested residents should make an appointment as soon as possible.
With questions, constituents can contact Rep. Morrison’s district office at (847) 202-6584.
